Nigerian Afrobeats icon Davido has clinched three coveted nominations for the upcoming 2024 Grammy Awards.
This marks a significant milestone in David Adeleke’s career, securing nominations in major categories that include Best Global Album, Best African Performance, and Best Global Music Performance.
Davido’s latest album, “Timeless,” has earned him a spot in the fiercely competitive Best Global Album category.
The acclaimed artiste also stands tall in the Best African Performance category for his song “Unavailable” and the Best Global Music Performance category for his track “Feel.”
Taking to his Twitter page, Davido expressed his excitement, stating, “3 nominations at the Grammys!! Delay is not Denial!! 🏆🌎”
This acknowledgment reinforces the artiste’s resilience and commitment to his craft.
Notably, this marks the first time that Davido has bagged three Grammy nominations, reflecting the profound impact of his musical contributions on the global stage.
Davido is not the only Nigerian artiste to bask in the Grammy limelight.
Asake (alongside Olamide), Ayra Starr, and Burna Boy have also earned nominations for the 2024 Grammy Awards in the esteemed Best African Music Performance category.
The nominated tracks include “Amapiano” by ASAKE & Olamide, “City Boys” by Burna Boy, “UNAVAILABLE” by Davido featuring Musa Keys, “Rush” by Ayra Starr, and “Water” by Tyla.
The Grammy Awards, recognized as the pinnacle of musical excellence worldwide, are scheduled to take place in Los Angeles on February 4, 2024.
