West Ham United Coach David Moyes has expressed his doubts and uncertainty over the availability of Ghanaian Midfielder Mohammed Kudus for their new year’s clash against Brighton and Hove Albion tonight, January 2, 2024.
The doubts expressed by the manager of the Hammers come on the back of Kudus’ inclusion in the Black Stars 27 man squad who are to report to camp and start preparations for the AFCON 2023 tournament.
The midfielder who has become an integral part of West Ham’s starting lineup is supposed to join his national team mates in Kumasi for the preparations.
Even though reports indicate that, the Black Stars management team rejected a decision to include Kudus in West Ham’s line up for tonight’s game, David Moyes ahead of the game said he was hopeful the player will be available.
He stressed on the importance of the midfielder to the Hammers and how his performance has contributed to the team’s position in the Premier League.
“He (Kudus) is a really important player, so he will be to any team. We are hoping that there is a chance he could be [available for the Brighton], he said.
The Black Stars of Ghana are tipped to commence preparations towards the 32nd AFCON tournament scheduled to take place in Ivory Coast on January 2, 2024. They are tipped to play against Botswana on January 8, 2024 before they leave the country.
