A wreath laying ceremony has been held at the Asomdwe Park to commemorate the eighth anniversary of the passing of President John Evans Atta Mills.
It was attended by family, friends and leading members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Speakers at the solemn ceremony eulogized the late President describing him as a peace maker and one who always sought to foster unity.
Earlier, former President Jerry John Rawlings, together with the spokesperson for Professor Mills, now CEO of the Atta Mills Institute, Koku Anyidoho and some government officials held a separate remembrance and wreath-laying ceremony in honour of the late President.
A sod was cut for the refurbishment of the Atta Mills Institute by the Coastal Development Authority at the cost of 4.4 million Ghana cedis to be completed in six months.
