The Daily Graphic welcomes moves by government to bail out distressed microfinance companies so that depositors can have access to their lifetime savings. The paper is however unhappy with the loose supervision by the central bank. The Graphic recommends that since the business of microfinance institutions requires public trust and confidence to thrive, the Ghana Alternative Exchange of the Ghana Stock Exchange can help them raise the needed funds and help create awareness that will enhance the company’s status and create opportunities to make the microfinance institutions viable.

The Ghanaian Times calls on all to help prevent accidents on the Kwame Nkrumah overpass. The paper says since the three-tier-interchange was inaugurated in 2016, the overpass has recorded some avoidable accidents particularly involving tipper and cargo trucks. The paper notes that the overpass was constructed to ease traffic congestion on the Kwame Nkrumah Interchange but not meant for every type of vehicle especially long trailers and cargo trucks. It says it is unfortunate that truck drivers who are fully aware of the danger should they drive long trailers and heavy cargo on the overpass, continue to do so because, there is no one checking them. The paper therefore calls on the police and law enforcement agencies to take immediate steps to stop the long vehicles from plying the overpass to save the country from a catastrophe in future.
