Dr. Bernard Okoe Boye has made a return to the Health Ministry in a new Ministerial reshuffle by President Akufo-Addo.
The former Member of Parliament for Ledzokuku Constituency in the Greater Accra Region served as the Chief Executive Officer of the National Health Insurance Authority until his pronouncement as the Minister Designate for Health.
He replaces his former boss, Mr. Kwaku Agyeman-Manu whom he worked under as a Deputy Minister from 2020 to 2022 until he is appointed the Chief Executive Officer of the National Health Insurance Authority.
Dr. Okoe Boye was very instrumental in Ghana’s fight against the Covid-19 pandemic that plagued the world. He joins the list of people benign assigned to new portfolios by President Akufo-Addo.
Dr. Okoe Boye will be assisted in his new role by Madam Adelaide Ntim, Member of Parliament for Nsuta-Kwaman Beposo Constituency in The Ashanti Region and Mr. Alexander Akwasi Acquah, Member of Parliament for Akim Oda Constituency.
Dr. Okoe Boye with his experience in the health Ministry and other health-related competencies is poised to bring in new ideas to support President Akufo-Addo’s government reorganization agenda. Having worked as the Board Chairman of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital and a Physician at the Lekma Hospital, he appears fit for his new role.
His appointment alongside his two deputies are awaiting vetting and approvals respectfully by the Parliament of Ghana.
