The Minister for public Enterprises Mr. Joseph Cudjoe has called for students to be equipped with the requisite knowledge and skillset to combat cyber threats in the country. The minister made the call during the first graduation ceremony of the SIIMT University College in Accra

Twenty students formed the first graduating batch of the SIIMT University College established in 2013 in Ghana. The school is affiliated with the University of Cape Coast, and strategically positioned to train and provide quality education for the next generation of students to become IT Professionals in Ghana. From cyber security to data science, SIIMT is on record to have demonstrated excellence and innovation.

The rector of SIIMT university college Dr. Raju Sonavane advised the grandaunts to reckon that in an ever-evolving landscape of technology, the role of IT professionals has never been more crucial. He described IT professionals as architects of innovation, problem solvers of tomorrow, and the driving force behind digital transformation

On his part, Prof. Nii Noi Dowuona from the University of Ghana and a member of the National Accreditation Board said, IT professionals possess the expertise to harness the power of technology to drive innovation, enhance productivity, and solve complex challenges across industries and sectors, for which players must help mother Ghana in its digitalization journey.

Prof. Simon Mariwa of the University of Cape Coast led the Oath declaration for the graduating students.

Mr. Tripathi Dhananjay, CEO of Pharmanova Group Limited also said IT is very crucial in the pharmaceutical industry today than ever especially in the production of vaccines and medical essentials.
